John Ross, chairperson of the Aurora walk, notes, “I believe Walk a Mile in My Shoes is a totally unique community event for the Chicago area. This fourth annual winter walk shows that caring for people and ministry is a year-round task. In all Chicagoland, I believe that there are only a handful of winter outdoor fund-raisers. With an anticipated 200-300 walkers, this walk shows that the Aurora area individuals have a heart for the hurting no matter the season, the weather, the temperature, or even the economy.”

The one-mile winter walk begins and ends at the Fred Rogers Community Center, 501 College Ave. The starting step-off time for Feb. 13 walk is 9:00 a.m. A route map and other information about the walk is available at www.walk-a-mile-aurora.org.

The walk’s goal is to raise to $20, 000 and have each walker raise at least $100.
