• 2005 Award Received at Oct. 29 Banquet

Aurora, Ill., Nov. 22, 2005 (The Religion Wire™ ) — Aurora’s First Presbyterian Church presented its 2005 Love Aurora Award to Wayside Cross Ministries. The award was presented to Wayne Greenawalt, executive director of WCM, at the church’s Love Aurora Banquet on Oct. 29, 2005.

Other past award recipients include — Mayor David Pierce; Chief of Police David Stover; Marie Wilkinson; Evelyn Francis; Paul Johannaber; Paul House; Hendrik and Barbara Boer; Michael Gerhard and Mary Alice Gin; Donald and Nancy Smith; and Pastor Bob and Jean Urquhart.

Wayside and First Presbyterian Church have over 75 years of partnership in community outreach. Some of Wayside’s current outreach programs include – Master’s Touch, New Life Corrections, Urban Youth Ministry, and Lifespring. FPC’s Neighborhood Kids Club is a partnership program with Wayside.

First Presbyterian Church is located in the heart of Aurora at 325 East Downer Place and since 1858 has been ministering to Aurora and Auroraland with the Gospel of Chirst.
