• Travis Thrasher Discusses His New Novel “Admission” at First Presbyterian Church’s Pause & EnrichAurora, Ill., Dec. 28, 2005 (The Religion Wire™ ) — Lovers of fiction writing are encouraged to come to First Presbyterian Church’s Pause & Enrich on Thursday, Jan. 12, noon. Featured speaker will be author Travis Thrasher - “Admission” (Jan. 2006, Moody Publishers). Thrasher will also sign books. FPC is located at 325 E. Downer Place, Aurora.
The author of “Gun Lake” and “The Second Thief” is back with a riveting tale of how buried mistakes can resurface at any time. Adventure Company entrepreneur Jake Rivers gets a call from the parents of a woman who has disappeared and who was last seen with Alec, Jake’s best friend from college. The girl’s parents believe she is hiding out with Alec, but Jake hasn’t heard from him in 10 years. Jake’s moved on from his college days, but the memories of what he’s tried to forget—a friend’s suicide, an enemy’s mysterious disappearance— keep surfacing. Someone wants to keep him from discovering what really happened.
Travis Thrasher has been writing since college and is the author of two well-received novels. He spent his youth living with his family in places such as Australia, Germany, New York, Florida and North Carolina. Travis currently lives with his wife in suburban Chicago.
Pause & Enrich is scheduled each month with a book author or other reviewer on the second Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. Individuals bring a bag lunch with beverages provided. Pause & Enrich is “a special hour to nourish the mind, body, and soul.” It is “a time where books, faith, and a brown bag lunch meet.” For more information contact John Ross at (630) 879-8828 or the First Presbyterian Church office at (630) 844-0050.
