“Acts of Mercy” - witness the extreme makeovers onboard the floating hospital ship.

Aurora, Ill., May 18, 2006 (The Religion Wire™ ) — Total Living Network releases a new DVD titled “Acts of Mercy”, a documentary hosted by the well known TV host, journalist and producer, Bill Kurtis. This DVD introduces real life extreme makeovers on the Anastasis ship in Monrovia, Liberia. The DVD will be available May 30th in Christian bookstores, Christian web-sites, and directly from TLN for $19.95.

The Acts of Mercy program is a partnership between Total Living Network and Bill Kurtis Productions. “Partnering and working with Bill Kurtis has been an exciting opportunity. The Mercy Ship, Anastasis, (translated as “resurrection, giving back life”) gives true meaning to her name. Victims of gross deformities come to the dock in droves in hopes of being healed but who will be chosen? And how many can be helped? All of this and more is featured on the documentary. Filmed on location in Monrovia, Liberia, stories of the patients and their families unfold as they tell of their tumors, struggles with illness, and ridicule from their communities. Live operating rooms surgeries are highlighted in the documentary and patients are surgically transformed before our eyes with astounding results. Many people say this is the gift of an extreme makeover that really matters, because without the help of the Mercy Ships volunteer doctors and staff, many of these patients would die.

This inspirational DVD includes DVD extras with interviews, a director’s message from Bill Kurtis, and a free Bible Study for teens and adults.
