• Grand Opening Set for July 15

Elgin, Ill., July 7, 2006 (The Religion Wire™) — The Elgin Wayside Center, the doorway of opportunity to the homeless and hurting, is excited to announce the Grand Opening of its spacious, added facility Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 441 E. Dundee Avenue in Elgin. The additional 6,300 sq. ft. facility replaces the previous 1,200 sq. ft. facility and will offer numerous services and expanded programs, including goal achievement, job training, life application training, counseling, and education.

The larger facility will not only provide much-needed space for counseling rooms, classrooms and leisure areas, it also offers greater storage areas. Increased storage areas will allow the Center to accept larger quantities of food from outside sources, thus improving the quality of meals and the quantity of food available for distribution through the Food Pantry. The new space will also allow for the Center to continue to offer basic necessities like showers and laundry.

In honor of this special occasion, the Center, along with Highland Fellowship Church will be celebrating with a live band, a BBQ, a distribution of free clothing to the needy and a special program. The celebration will take place on Saturday, July 15 at 10:00 a.m. Local officials, and church dignitaries will attend.
